Angel Gown Program
Angel Gowns are special infant gowns created from donated wedding dresses and gifted to families suffering from stillbirth or neonatal loss. The dresses are deconstructed and turned into beautiful Angel Gowns to be used as burial gowns for these precious infants.
Several months ago Three Little Birds Perinatal & Palliative Care Advocacy and Support received over 100 unique handcrafted Angel Gowns. Volunteer seamstresses across the country are creating these gorgeous gowns for their local hospitals and families. In addition to gorgeous gowns, seamstresses also make “Preemie Pockets” for second trimester losses who are too small for a traditional angel gown.
This program has become very popular and Three Little Birds has received numerous requests to accept donated gowns. Christine Unander has generously volunteered her time to become Three Little Bird’s in-house Angel Gown Coordinator.
Wedding Dress Drive – through May 12th
Three Little Birds will be collecting dresses over the next six weeks, leading up to Mother’s Day, to be sent to their seamstresses. Wedding or evening gowns in light pink, blue, or cream will be considered.
Drop off your clean wedding or evening dress now through May 12th at Image is Everything Studios, 1428 Kings Highway, Swedesboro, NJ. Please leave on front porch in a box or bag with a note it is for the Angel Gown Program.
Additionally, they will be collecting gowns at the South Jersey Family and Maternity Fair on May 12th. The fair will be held at Float Haven Spa (110 N. Woodbury Rd in Pitman) and a portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit Three Little Birds.
