If you’re planning a Disney vacation, Mullica Hill resident Jennifer Elsworth is the ticket to making your trip magical and stress-free! Jennifer works for a wonderful agency which has the designation of Authorized Disney Vacation Planner and she pretty much eats, sleeps and breathes Disney (just ask her kids!)
“My job is to help my clients have the best and smoothest vacation they can. I am there through the whole planning process and will guide them, book things for them, make an itinerary , etc. I treat all my clients like they are part of my family and advocate for them. I am an extra brain that may suggest something you may not have thought of. “
Best of all, Jennifer is paid by the supplier (Disney), not by the client (you) so she doesn’t charge you anything for her services. That said, she can only help clients who book through her. Disney actually builds agency fees into their pricing so you’re not saving any more by booking on your own, and most of us agree we’d rather see that fee go to support a small business like Jennifer than right back to a big corporation (even Disney!)
We recently booked a trip with Jenn and sat down to pick her brain about the hottest Disney ticket in town…Disney Cruises. Here’s what she had to say:
What makes a Disney Cruise special/different from a regular cruise?
It’s that Disney Magic of course! Disney does it right. You can expect that every design detail has been given attention. Disney Cruise Line has also received numerous awards such as “Best Cruise Line” and it has been voted #1 for families. But I personally think what makes DCL so special is the service! It has that special Disney touch that others can’t compare.
That is definitely up to the client! For first time cruisers a 3 or 4 day may be the right choice to get those feet wet! Disney Cruise Line has four ships. They are The Disney Dream, Disney Magic , Disney Fantasy and Disney Wonder.
Disney Cruises have so many different destinations to explore such as the Bahamas, Caribbean, Bermuda, Alaska, Canada, New England, California Coast, Mexican Riviera, Northern Europe and more! With ports out of New York , Galveston, Port Canaveral, Miami and more, you are sure to find a cruise that fits your needs.
Disney Cruises are appropriate for every age! There is something for everyone. I think when people think of a Disney Cruise, they think it’s just for kids. But Disney does a fantastic job of catering to adults as well. They have designated adults areas like pools, restaurants and bars just for that purpose!
Is childcare available on board to give parents a break? For what ages?
While the adults take some relaxing time, there are kids clubs to keep the children very entertained. There are clubs for all ages! The have the Oceaneer’s Lab and Club (ages 3-12). The Edge is geared toward the tweens (ages 11-14) and Vibe is perfect for the teen crowd (ages 14-17). There is also a Small World Nursery on board (with an hourly cost) for ages 6 months to 3 years. All clubs have plenty to do that for that age group and are fully supervised.
Disney Cruises have some of the largest state room of all the cruise lines. Most include a split bathroom which will allow for more than one person to get ready at a time. … so no fighting over the bathroom! Disney Cruises also have many connecting rooms on board which is great for a large family especially if you have tween/teens!
What is included on a Disney Cruise?
Disney cruises include meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, soft drinks, snacks and ice cream), Character meet and greets, Youth clubs, Broadway caliber shows such as Beauty and the Beast, new Disney movies, fun activities like the Aquaduck, Fireworks at sea (one of the only cruise lines to do this) and taxes and port fees. You should always compare the final prices for cruises. The other cruise lines may have some sexy rates but consider what is included and what you need to add.
Yes! How cool is that? Star Wars Day at Sea is perfect for any Star Wars fan. Just imagine watching fireworks at sea set to the Star Wars Score. They have Star Wars character experiences and even Jedi training. It’s only one day of your trip, so it also works for the members of the family who aren’t into Star Wars. Disney Cruises have other special sailings like Marvel Day At Sea, Halloween on the High Seas, Thanksgiving at Sea, Very MerryTime and New Year’s Eve.
How far in advance do you recommend booking?
I recommend booking a Disney Cruise as soon as prices are released to get the best pricing. Special itineraries like the holiday cruises sell out quickly. Disney Cruises never sail empty!
