Christmas House Tour ~ Dec. 8th

Christmas House TourThe theme of this month’s Second Saturday is “A Dickens Christmas” as Mullica Hill hosts its 37th annual Christmas House Tour.

For those who love home decor, there’s no better season than Christmas!  Tour six beautiful homes and other historic buildings in Mullica Hill, all decorated for the season.   New this year will be a progressive reading of A Christmas Carol by live actors at each location.   Each stop on the tour will have something special:

Begin at Gathering Room Interiors for a map of tour locations, hot chocolate with marshmallows, music and more!

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church and Friends School Mullica Hill will both feature live music and refreshments.

At Creamy Acres Farm you can tour an Early 1800’s Farm House and shop for holiday floral arrangements and more!

The tour locations are open from 2pm – 7pm.  Participants may visit each location on the tour at their leisure and in any order.  

Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 the day of the event. Purchase your tickets at Gathering Room Interiors on Main Street or call Hazel at (856) 223-5440.  Discounts are available for large groups and all proceeds go toward future Mullica Hill events.

Fall Festival this Weekend – Schedule of Events

This weekend is jam packed with Fall Festivities in Mullica Hill!  Here’s a run-down of what’s going on…Be sure to get out to enjoy all that our town has to offer!

 44th Annual Fall Festival – 10/13 & 10/14,   10 am –  5 pm  on Main St.

Experience a Civil War re-enactment, camp life, a weapons and medical displays, baking on an open fire, candle dipping, and music from a Civil War band.   Local writer and historian Charles H. Harrison will be at The Front Porch to sign his book about his great-grandfather’s Gettysburg experience.  In the evening enjoy a free-guided Lantern Tour of the Union & Confederate camps.

Second SaturdaySecond Saturday – 10/13 on Main St.

Crafters, Food and Music will line the streets for this Second Saturday celebration.  Stop in to Amelia’s Tea & Holly for dessert and tea and sample award winning wines from Heritage Vineyards. Don’t miss the Grand Openings of two new shops – Kings Court and Vintage Home and visit Langmore Salon’s Breast Cancer Awareness Event for free pink nail polish, chalking and feathers.

Ghost WalkGhost Walk – Sat. 10/13, 6:30pm at blue plate

The Harrison Township Historical Society will take you on a guided walking tour of Mullica Hill’s haunted history.  This one hour tour walks past the historic  buildings along Main Street. Tickets are $5 per person and tours will depart from blue plate every 15 minutes beginning at 6:30pm.  Purchase your tickets in advance – they sell out quickly!   Click Here for details.

 

Build your Own Scarecrow – Sat. 10/13, 10am-2pm at The American Legion

The Mullica Hill Rotary’s annual Build A Scarecrow event is a great day of family fun! They supply all the materials and to make your scarecrow.  Just bring a camera to capture the fun and take home your new friend to display proudly!  The cost is $25 and all proceeds benefit the Mullica Hill Rotary charities. (Rain Date 10/14)

 

Vintage Car ShowVintage Car Show – Sat. 10/13, 9am-12:30pm at Susquehanna Bank

Car enthusiasts won’t want to miss this annual car show.  The show will benefit Gloucester County Habitat for Humanity and will feature hot dogs, drinks and door prizes.

Second Saturday Food & Farm Festival

 

The August 11th Second Saturday in Mullica Hill is shaping up to be a big event!!

This Food & Farm Festival will feature great food from our local restaurants and spotlight our local farms.   Enjoy the live music as you walk through town visiting the crafters and vendors that line the street and stop in the shops for special in-store sales and events.

Sample our local eateries:

Visit the Gathering Room Interiors from 3-6pm for a BBQ Chicken Dinner from Rode’s. ($12.50 for 1/4 chicken or $15 for half chicken)  and homemade peach pie from blue plate ($3 a slice).

Heritage Winery will host a complimentary wine tasting and will have wine available for sale.  Be sure to enter for a chance to win their gift basket or gift certificate.

The Cake Boutique will be selling cupcakes and other treats and Carvel will feature homemade peach ice cream.

Enjoy fresh produce from our local farms… 

Local farm stands will feature fresh flowers and produce.   Holtzhausers will have fresh Jersey peaches and a vintage farm truck and Creamy Acres will have organic and local produce.

The evening will conclude with a Farm Chic Fashion Show, more entertainment and a small reception at the barn behind Gathering Room Interiors.
