Our neighbors in Swedesboro invite all of Mullica Hill to join them for Swedesboro Woolwich Day on Saturday, Sept. 30 from 10am – 4pm (rain or shine!)  on Kings Highway in downtown Swedesboro.  Enjoy free parking all day and a free shuttle bus service to all of the activities and events.

When it comes to entertainment, you name it – they’ll have it:  Enjoy live performances on two different stages as well as a car show, historic reenactors, local vendors and fun for the whole family!

Dragon 5k Run 

Nate002The day kicks off at 8am with the 11th Annual  Dragon 5k Run and 1 mile Walk.  All proceeds from the Race will benefit the Nathaniel Boerlin scholarship fund. Nate was a proud 16 year old honor student at Kingsway Regional High School who also excelled as a percussionist.  Nate died suddenly in April 2007, from complications of a GBM, Glioblastoma Multiforme, an aggressive stage IV brain cancer.   A perpetual scholarship is given to a deserving graduate from KRHS who emulates Nate’s passions for learning and music.Visit www.naterocksheaven.org for course route and additional info.

Car Show:carshow

The Swedesboro-Woolwich Car Show, which also benefits the Nathaniel Boerlin scholarship fund, will be held at the south end of Kings Highway in Swedesboro from 10a.m. to 4p.m.  There will be participant judging for the Top 25 as well as Best Of’s.



8th Annual Dragon Run 5k & Swedesboro-Woolwich Day ~ Sept. 27th

Swedesboro-Woolwich Day

 Head to Swedesboro for a day of fun on Saturday, Sept. 27! Festivities will begin at 6:30 a.m., with registration for the 8th Annual Dragon Run 5K and 1 Mile Walk. Swedesboro-Woolwich Day will follow (rain or shine) on Kings Highway in Downtown Swedesboro from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will feature entertainment for guests of all ages, with activities and performances taking place throughout the day. Parking and a shuttle bus will be available free of charge!

The 8th Annual Dragon Run 5K and 1 Mile Walk was established in memory of Nathaniel “Nate” Boerlin, from Mickleton, who died in April 2007 from complications of an aggressive form of brain cancer called GBM, Glioblastoma Multiforme. Boerlin, 16, was an honor student and an accomplished musician at Kingsway Regional High School in Woolwich Township.

Dragon Run 5k 2014

Opening ceremonies begin at 8 a.m., with the race following at 8:30 a.m. It will begin and end at the Woolwich Firehouse. Proceeds from the race will go to benefit the Nathaniel Boerlin Scholarship Fund. Since its inception, the NBSF has helped preserve Boerlin’s legacy through a scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to graduates of K.R.H.S., who share his passion for learning and music. Past winners include: Eric Henney, John Floyd II, Dylan Brewer, Julia Bradbury, Robert McIntyre, Tori Schober and Kyle Blackburn.

Awards will be presented at the Main Stage (next to Cheega’s Funeral Home) at 10 am. Male and female participants who place first, second and third will receive cash prizes ranging from $50 to $200. Age group prizes will also be awarded.

Race registration can also be done online or at the pre-race packet pickup and pasta dinner from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 26 at Kingway High School Main North. Dinner will be served in the cafeteria. Tickets (for pasta dinner only) are $10. Salad, pasta, dessert and drinks included. Proceeds benefit the boys soccer program.
