Taco Salad Flag Dip

Turn traditional taco dip into a patriotic appetizer, perfect for your 4th of July picnic!

  • Cook meat with taco seasoning mix as directed on package; cool slightly.
  • Mix cream cheese, sour cream and salsa until blended; spread onto bottom of 13×9-inch dish. Top evenly with layers of meat mixture, 1 cup shredded cheese and lettuce.
  • Arrange olive slices on top left corner of dip to resemble stars on the US flag. Add rows of tomatoes and remaining shredded cheese for the stripes.

Four for the 4th: New Toppings for Corn on the Cob

Our favorite local farm markets have sweet Jersey corn-on the-cob ready to go for your July 4th celebration.

That perfectly buttered and salted ear of corn may be an all-American tradition, but why not try one of these four new ideas for a new twist on an old favorite!

Corn on the Cob Toppings

1.  Mix pesto sauce with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and melted butter for some Italian influence.

2.  For corn with a kick, mix mayonnaise with Mexican cojita cheese and ground chili pepper.

3.  Make it even sweeter with a mixture of cinnamon, granulated sugar, and melted butter.

4.  Add coarse sea salt, cracked black pepper and  cumin seeds to olive oil for a simple spread.

So good you better pick up an extra dozen!
