Free Shredding Event ~ Sept. 16th

Harrison Township will host a free shredding event in the Municipal Building parking lot on Saturday, Sept. 16th from 2-5 p.m.


Residents can safely dispose of secure documents (paper only) up to a maximum of four boxes or trash bags per car. Paper clips and staples are acceptable but binders, binder clips and plastic bags must be removed from your documents in advance.

DocuVault Delaware Valley will be on site to move bins to a highly secure, mobile shredding unit  to destroy your confidential information.

2017 Gloucester County 4H Fair ~ July 27th-30th

The annual Gloucester County 4H Fair  is in its 70th year and provides the feel of an “old-time-country-fair” to today’s modern families.  The 2017 4H Fair will be held Thursday through Sunday, July 27th-30th  at the Gloucester County Fair Grounds – 275 Bridgeton Pike, Mullica Hill.  


The fair will be open Thursday from 9 a.m.-11 p.m.,  Friday and Saturday from 8a.m. -11p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.  Horse shows start at at the fair opening each day. Admission is free, but there is a $10 parking donation per carload, good for all four days.

  • Visitors are invited to celebrate the accomplishments of 4‑H children who have worked throughout the year on a variety of programs.  The 4-H Fair gives an opportunity for 4-H participants in Kindergarten through college to show off their projects.    Fair proceeds go to the programs, facilities, and services that benefit 4-H children throughout the year.

  • The fair will also feature daily rides and games, moon bounce, free kids crafts, magic shows, a petting zoo, pony rides, henna art and exhibits, demonstrations and sales—lots of fun for the whole family!

  • BBQ Dinners featuring chicken, ribs & corn on the cob will be available Thursday through Saturday night from 4p.m.-8p.m. in the Food Pavillion.

Woodstown 4th of July Parade ~ July 4th

Fourth of July is a special day in Woodstown where the entire town takes part in the Independence Day celebration.  The Annual Woodstown 4th of July Parade has taken place since 1932 and many say it’s straight out of Norman Rockwell painting with spectators lining Main St. waving flags and every home flying the stars and stripes.

This year’s parade is set for Tuesday July 4th at 10:00 a.m. and will be held rain or shine!  The parade will begin at Allen Avenue, go up South Main St. through the Center of town, up North Main St. and end at Marlton Park.  It usually lasts 1 1/2-2 hours. 
** All participants should park at Marlton Park (123 Marlton Rd., Pilesgrove) and a shuttle bus will drop you off at Memorial Lake Park.

There’s nothing better than a good old fashioned community parade complete with firetrucks, homemade floats and kids on decorated bikes or strollers!

All parade entries must be decorated and music accompaniment is encouraged!  You can have a vehicle, bike or walking entry – your choice – but all entries should be family friendly.  Participants must fill out this registration form.


1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded to groups who best represent the theme Yankee Doodle Dandy

Judging will be based on the following criteria:

1. Creativity (design, music, participants, props etc.)
2. Unified theme:  Yankee Doodle Dandy
3. Eye Catching
4. Originality
5. Effort in Design
6. Patriotic Spirit

Flick & Float Free Movie Night ~ July 12th

The Harrison Township Recreation Department and Raccoon Valley Swim Club invite you to enjoy a Flick ‘n Float event on Wednesday, July 12th.  All are welcome to watch TROLLS at Raccoon Valley while sitting poolside – or floating in the pool!

Doors will OPEN at 6:30 pm so everyone can enjoy swimming early and please come HUNGRY.. there will be pizza and other food items for sale at the concession stand.  The movie will be shown at dusk (8:30 p.m.)trollsThis event is FREE but you need to pick up your admissioin tickets from the Rec/Clerk’s office in the Municipal Building or at Raccoon Valley Swim Club.  Limited admission so don’t delay!

Raccoon Valley is located at the intersection of Church St. and Eric Rd. in Mullica Hill.

Memorial Day Services ~ May 29th

The Harrison Township Veteran’s Commission and the American Legion Post 452 will hold Memorial Day services to honor our veterans on Monday, May 29th.


9:00 a.m. – Rifle Salute at the Baptist Church Cemetery on Main Street

9:15 a.m. – Wreath laying with rifle salute at the Old Town Hall

9:30 a.m. - Wreath laying with rifle salute William Wilt Veterans’ Memorial

10:00 a.m. – Service by Reverend Herman with wreath laying and rifle salute. Richwood United Methodist Church Cemetery.  Carnations will be distributed to those present for placement on the graves of our veterans.

Love a bargain?   This semi-annual event is a one-stop shop for bargain hunters, allowing you hunt for treasures all in one place!   Rain Date:  Sunday, May 21st.

Have stuff you need to get rid of?  Your trash could be someone else’s treasure! Clean out your garage and closets and rent a space for just $25 using this registration form.  Set up time is 6;30-7:30 a.m. – bring your own table/tent.

Harrison Township Day ~ May 6th

Coombs’ Barnyard Egg and Veggie Hunt ~ April 8th & 15th

What better way to celebrate Spring than to get outdoors and enjoy some fun on the farm? Coombs’ Barnyard on Route 77 in Elmer has fabulous  springtime activities for the whole family!

Come on out to celebrate the season with their Egg and Veggie Hunt on Saturday, April 8th and 15th from 10am – 4pm (rain date April 9th)

Harrison Township Easter Egg Hunt ~ April 8th

The Annual Harrison Township Easter Egg Hunt is planned for Saturday, April 8th  at 11:00 a.m. at the William Wilt Soccer Complex on Walters Rd. in Mullica Hill.  (Rain Date:  April 9th at 1:00 p.m.)


Bring your Easter Baskets to gather the eggs.  The children will be divided by age group with each group hunting for eggs one at a time so that parents can accompany children to their designated areas.

Bring your best Easter Smiles and grab a photo opp with the Bunny before or after the Egg Hunt!
