According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), drowning is the number one cause of accidental death for infants and young children between the ages of 1-4.
Infant Swimming Resource, founded in 1966, has a team of nearly 450 instructors guided by the mission: “Not One More Child Drowns.” They believe that although fences, pool alarms and supervision are critical, the most important part of a drowning prevention strategy is the child.
ISR goes beyond traditional swimming instruction by teaching children skills to potentially save themselves if they find themselves in the water alone.
Infant Swimming Resource provides survival swimming lessons for children 6 months to 6 years old and a new session of classes begins January 18th at Future Fitness in Mullica Hill. The ISR Self-Rescue™ program will give your child the competence, confidence and skills of aquatic safety. Instructor Dawn Tapscott Dawn Tapscott is a certified master instructor with ISR. Dawn has over 15 years of experience teaching drowning prevention skills and has trained many individuals around the country to become ISR instructors.
